3 Message from the Managing Director For 50 years Alpha Laboratories has been supplying the UK and international medical and scientific industry with quality products, services and support. This year we have transitioned from a family-run business to a key subsidiary of an international group working within the European Life Sciences sector of Diploma PLC. Through the acquisition we remain committed to the same ethos and vision from our inception; to help science improve people’s lives. The acquisition supports our goals for growth and value deliverance across our supply chain and to our customers. Driving our business is our passion for finding innovative solutions for scientific developments in the diagnostic and consumables market. This drives our ambitions to meet the further demand from stakeholders to provide greater sustainable solutions, operations and manufacturing. The company’s People, Planet, Culture (PPC) strategy embeds the core beliefs of sustainability and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) into everyday business operations. People: Working within our local area we strive to uplift our communities. Our newly established charity partners, Bowel Cancer UK and REACH Social Foundation, help us reach and support new demographics and areas than before. Alpha’s Employee Volunteering Scheme and Employee Nomination Scheme allow staff the opportunity to give back and support communities that are important to them. Encouraging the education of science through all levels of academia ensures we support the growth of the future workforce. Planet: Accountability and transparency are key to reducing our impact and that of our value chain. Annually publishing our carbon emissions, identifies areas where we can prioritise the reduction of our environmental impact. Through carbon reduction projects, in-house training and customer initiatives, Alpha look to encourage sustainable procurement and behaviour within our own operations and throughout the supply chain. Alpha actively supports international initiatives, such as the My Green Lab ‘ACT labels’, to enhance customer understanding of product transparency and responsibility within the marketplace. Annual staff volunteering events help ingrain the importance of community efforts in making our world a cleaner and an ecologically richer place. Culture: Our employees are the heart of our success and the driving force to our impact on the market. To achieve a shared set of goals, Alpha continuously assesses internal systems to ensure all members of staff feel supported in their career progression, outreach opportunities, and mental and physical wellbeing. We maintain a focus on ensuring all acts across the business and supply chain remain ethical. Monitoring our risks to modern slavery annually and completing assessments such as the UK Governments Modern Slavery Assessment Tool (MSAT), allow us to review internal and external approaches to tackling high risk opportunities. Alpha continues to value quality and operate through our certified integrated ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems as well as maintaining our ISO 13485 certification. Our carbon footprint is verified through an external consultant in line with ISO 14064-3. We are excited to continue our journey of improving sustainable opportunities within the industry. Through the publishing of our fourth Sustainability Report we share our positive impacts, and we look forward to growing opportunities and furthering our work. Planet Taking ownership of our environmental impact and exploring sustainable solutions and opportunities to reduce this impact. Ensuring all members of the workforce understand the significance of sustainable procurement and looking to reduce our waste by choosing recycled or refurbished options. Our Net Zero target: To achieve operational Net Zero emissions by 2040 (Scopes 1 and 2), and by 2045 for our broader Organisational emissions (Scope 3). As a supplier to the NHS our Net Zero target is aligned with the NHS Net Zero Goal. We have committed to annually monitoring and publishing our carbon footprint to allow for transparency and accountability of our impact on the environment. Alpha looks to reduce emissions in all areas across the business, our carbon footprint highlights the areas causing the most impact. Over the years large building upgrades have been undertaken to improve our Scope 1 and 2 emissions. We endeavour to continue reducing this impact, through assessments of services and operational processes. i Our solar panels have been installed for over 2 years now. In 2025 our panels generated 28% of our on-site energy, we look to deeper analyse how we can optimise the energy generated to increase our usage. i We are looking deeper into our upstream and downstream emissions; to better understand the impact our freight and courier services have on the environment and to help provide better data for our customers. i All new employees undergo in-house environmental awareness training within their inductions. In addition to this all members of the sales team are required to undergo further training via the MyGreenLab Ambassador scheme to expand their knowledge on sustainable opportunities within the laboratory environment. i We continuously review waste streams and packaging alternatives to ensure we follow the most sustainable route possible. I volunteered with my daughter’s school (Year R) on a trip to Longdown Activity Farm. The children took part in hands-on activities such as feeding baby goats, collecting eggs, and enjoying a tractor ride. The visit helped them learn more about farm animals and how they are cared for on a working farm. It was a really enjoyable day for the children, and the school was very thankful for the volunteers, as trips like this would not be possible without additional support. 11 Culture Our people are our purpose and biggest asset. We all operate under a shared set of values which reflect the company’s commitment to innovation, empathy, growth, trust and responsibility. Collaboration with stakeholders is important to explore and innovate solutions and services to reduce the pressure on our medical and scientific services, our work focuses on creating a more sustainable future, for both the industry and our communities. Procurement Practices Maintaining a strong and reliable supply chain is vital to ensuring we are providing the best possible service to our customers. Products are mainly sourced from several suppliers in North America, with the remaining products being sourced evenly from Asia, Europe, and the UK. Supporting the local economy, Alpha continues to pursue innovative products within the UK and European markets. Alpha looks to use lower carbon freight options where possible to support our Net Zero target. Alpha’s commitment to sustainable procurement was reflected in earning the ‘Highly Commended’ status from Labmate in the Best Sustainability Initiative – the GreenLab Award category at the International Labmate Ltd, Labmate Awards for Excellence 2025. In 2025, our LaboraTree Scheme planted an additional 326 trees, bringing our total to over 3500 trees planted since the inception of the scheme. Risk Management in Supply Chains Alpha Labs recognises that complexities of the global supply chain will always leave a risk of modern slavery. Therefore, Alpha is committed to reducing and mitigating that risk, ensuring it is minimised within both internal operations and all procurement practices. Alpha’s Modern Slavery Statement is available on the Alpha website and the UK Government Modern Slavery registry. It is annually revised and updated with yearly objectives from the senior leadership team to ensure continual improvements. Company policies reflect Alpha’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of all staff in business operations, as well as the commitment from suppliers, service providers and contractors to maintain the same standards. Continuing the companywide commitment to anti-slavery, Alpha has committed to completing the UK Governments MSAT (Modern Slavery Assessment Tool) annually. Alpha maintains a 64% scoring, same as the previous year, the improvements report detailed additional actions we could make to continue to improve our scoring: Graph 2 – Product manufacturing location by continent. ‘Europe’ category exclusive of UK manufacturers. Europe - 17% North America - 52% Asia - 13% UK - 18% 16
17 i Every employee is now required to complete modern slavery training annually. i A high-risk supplier audit has been developed to complete further due diligence for suppliers considered high risk for modern slavery. i Alpha launched its supplier engagement strategy, beginning communication with suppliers to understand their ethical and sustainable journey. i All UK suppliers were invited to complete the MSAT, to support expansion of awareness and improvement within the supply chain. Alpha monitors its supplier risk through the mapping of our Tier 1 supply partners for saleable goods. Using guidance from the UK Government and data from the Global Slavery Index, Alpha uses a mixture of supplier expenditure data and product manufacturing country of origin risk to prioritise suppliers overall ‘risk’ of modern slavery in its immediate operations. Alpha does not consider any of its supply partners to be ‘High Risk’ for modern slavery. To ensure appropriate due diligence is undertaken for any potential supplier that may be considered ‘High Risk’ in the future, Alpha has developed the ‘High Risk Supplier Audit’. This requires suppliers to undergo further investigation and provide additional documentation to evidence the mitigation of risks on their premises and with their suppliers.
Environmental Alpha is committed to remaining accountable and transparent in all aspects of its environmental actions. Through our certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Environmental and Quality Management System (EQMS), Alpha upholds global standards in compliance and monitoring of our environmental impacts. To maximise our impact, Alpha has committed to a Net Zero emissions target by 2040 for all operational emissions (Scope 1 & 2), and by 2045 for all the wider emissions scope (Scope 3). This goal aligns to the NHS Net Zero target, for which a collaborative approach from all suppliers is required. The NHS goal accounts for residual emissions that are unable to be reduced, with a 5% exception for Scopes 1 & 2, and 10% exception for Scope 3. All residual emissions are expected to be offset through a certified carbon offsetting scheme by the target date. To support alignment to the NHS supplier roadmap and Net Zero goals, Alpha Laboratories Ltd is pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment. This is a self-assessment and reporting tool and resulted in Level 2: Comprehensive net zero targets and reporting for carbon emissions. The Evergreen Assessment is one of several NHS initiatives designed to support its net zero and wider sustainability objectives. We are delighted to be supporting the NHS to achieve their net zero and sustainability ambitions, including those set out in the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap. Alpha maintains alignment to the NHS Supplier Roadmap on our joint journey to Net Zero emissions. We remain compliant with all requirements, including the publishing of an annual Carbon Reduction Plan, detailing annual emissions alongside current and future reduction projects. 18
19 Energy Operating from one location, Alpha collects energy and emissions data from within its operational boundary, this includes all global business travel and freight emissions. Therefore, Alpha does not account for any emissions or energy use outside of the operational boundary established. Operating primarily as a distributor, Alpha does not manufacture products within its direct operations. Thus, Alpha cannot monitor or account for any emission relating to the development or reduction of energy usage within the use of sold products and services. Alpha ensures transparent reporting of energy and emissions data to maintain responsibility for its impacts. Annual reporting is conducted following the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Guidelines, and in line with ISO 14064-1 guidelines. All energy reduction calculations are measured against our baseline year of 2021/22 – see Graph 3 below, for trend across all years from then. Alpha’s commitment to renewable energy is seen through its dedication to evolve in line with UN SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy. This is highlighted through maintenance of our Green Tariff for both our grid electricity and natural gas, and the installation of solar panels onsite in 2023. In 2025, Alpha has seen an overall decrease in energy emissions by 47% since baseline records - this is primarily driven by purchased electricity use reducing by ~28,000 kWh. We can attribute this to a mixture of in-house projects such as installing more efficient LED lighting, sensor lighting, and a reliance on solar generation during the warmer months. Overall natural gas usage has decreased by 60% since the baseline year, evidence of our success as we move to electrify systems. However, we have experienced an increase in gas usage since the previous year, rising by 10,000 kWh; this is believed to be due to maintaining office and operational temperatures during the cold snaps in the early months of 2025. Table 1 – Shows the annual energy consumption through service providers – this does not include the generation of solar energy from the company’s solar panels on site. Graph 3 - Demonstrates annual purchased energy consumption in kWh from our baseline (1st October 2021 – 30th September 2022). It shows an overall decrease in energy consumption in both purchased electricity and natural gas as the company increases its electrification of systems and shifts further to solar usage. This graph does not take into account solar energy consumption or generation from onsite solar panels. Table 1 above shows the annual energy consumption through service providers – this does not include the generation of solar energy from the company’s solar panels on site. Reporting Year 2025 Natural Gas 12,484 kWh Electricity 40,975 kWh Total Energy Consumption 53,459 kWh
20 Solar Update In the 2025 reporting year, Alpha has generated the equivalent of 74% of Alphas total electricity consumption (purchased electricity and solar generation), 32% of this consumption has been generated through our onsite solar panels and directed straight into operational use or battery storage – with the remaining generated electricity being directed to the national grid (Alpha do not profit from onsite solar generated energy sent to the national grid). In 2025, we have seen an increase in solar generation across 8 of the 9 months in the last reporting year compared to the same months in 2024. Comparative to 2024, Alpha has increased its average monthly electricity consumption. However, we have maintained a decrease in purchased electricity (see Energy – previous page), through a higher reliance on the increased generation of the solar systems. Alpha’s hybrid working environment continues to cause fluctuations within consumption data across the months. Analyses into daily solar generation and usage show early mornings and evenings generating high levels of solar energy in the summer months, exceeding battery storage and usage demands. This is where Alpha looses much of the solar energy generated back to the national grid. Additionally, the high demand hours for electricity fall within the average working hours (9am – 5pm) – which show employee demand is too high for the current solar systems to accommodate. In the next financial year (1st October 2025 - 30th September 2026), Alpha plan to engage with our solar energy contractor to further analyse and explore potential improvements to the solar systems to better accommodate energy demand across the business. Emissions Monitoring and publishing emissions annually is essential to understanding our true and accurate impact on the environment. Reporting, following Greenhouse Gas Protocol and ISO 14064-1 guidelines, ensure all categories relevant to the business are reviewed and measured accordingly. Aligned to these guidelines Alpha’s carbon footprint calculations are inclusive of all 7 identified greenhouse gases - CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PCFs, SF6, and NF3. Data sets for the relevant conversion factors are taken from Gov.uk and ONS conversion factors for all Procurement data. Alpha continues to undergo an external verification of our emissions calculations each year through a third-party consultant following ISO 14064-3 standards, uphold confidence in our reporting processes, and assurance that we are calculating the most accurate emissions footprint with the data available. Alphas baseline year (1st October 2021 – 30th September 2022) was chosen after several years of Graph 4 – Alpha premises solar generation and electricity consumption.
21 Scope 1 Emissions 8.42 tCO2e, 0.4% (total footprint) – 72.4% decrease from baseline emissions. Scope 2 Emissions 12.36 tCO2e and 0.7% (total footprint) – 10.8% decrease from baseline emissions. Scope 3 Emissions 1906.85 tCo2e and 98.9% (total footprint) – 51.3% decrease from baseline. Compared to baseline emission we have seen an overall decrease of 51% of our emissions. This has been primarily driven in changes within our procurement, increase in the accuracy of data, and upgrading calculations to focus on key areas of missing data. Please see our website for our Carbon Reduction Plan and Verification Statement for a more detailed breakdown of our emissions reporting. Trajectory Our trajectory graph below visualises Alpha’s journey to our net zero targets, remaining on target as we continue to review processes for recording and collating data. We expect fluctuations in emissions as the industry moves towards more accurate reporting procedures. Alpha is committed to leading the industry to a more sustainable future building on transparency and accountability. We are aware, with a shorter financial year in this reporting period, Alpha has experienced a larger decrease in emissions than data records for a comparative 12 months. Therefore, we anticipate an increase in emissions in the next financial year (1st October 2025 – 30th September 2026) compared to this reporting period. We still expect this to remain lower than the baseline year and keep the company on track to achieving net zero by 2045. Graph 5 – Alpha Laboratories Ltd trajectory to Net Zero goal in 2045, inclusive of residual emissions expected to be offset by the target year. Carbon Footprint 2024: 1927.63 tCO2e calculations and a drastic change in the methodology which made previous data incomparable. This has allowed the company to reassess and identify areas of high carbon impact, whilst achieving a more accurate representation of emissions.

In 2025, Alpha set out a staff step challenge with a target of 500,000 steps collectively. Staff engaged in a variety of activities raising the step count every day! Employees across the business logged their steps through the company intranet system, smashing our goal and logging over 4.5 million steps collectively. REACH Social Foundation The REACH Social Foundation works to change the societal perception of adults living with learning disabilities and Autism. Work within the foundation aims to build confidence, independence and employability skills through offering a range of training, opportunity building, and support. Partnering with the REACH Foundation helps Alpha target areas of a new demographic within our own community which is often overshadowed by societal assumptions. Alpha is proud to support this amazing cause, and we are looking forward to the continued work we can achieve together. This year Alpha donated £5,000 to the foundation, supporting the purchase of a transport van. This van assists attendance for members with activities, and local craft fairs, as well as daily travel to and from the foundation. Annual Beach Clean Due to popular demand from staff, Alpha hosted our second annual beach clean in September 2025. The clean was completed at a sheltered area of Portsmouth Harbour, next to Portchester Castle, Fareham. 17 employees took part in the clean. The event included a litter survey submitted to the Marine Conservation Society to help monitor litter in different areas of the UK coastline. Staff found a variety of litter, from drinks canisters to large old fishing ropes. Due to the popularity of the location from locals, swift tidal changes and the sheltered environment, this area experiences a range of litter both from the public and washed up on the shores. Alpha Outreach (Previously Alpha Aspire) In 2025, we rebranded our Alpha Aspire programme to Alpha Outreach. This decision was made to further encompass new educational opportunities and pathways to ensure we target science engagement and enthusiasm at all levels.

During April 2025, ten staff members volunteered to complete some restoration work in the Year R courtyard. The courtyard has been split to incorporate different activities, supporting students in their learning-through-play education. Staff undertook work focused on building raised beds, painting, and sanding. During May staff hosted six of the children’s voices from Shakespeare Infant School. Looking to ignite and build curiosity in science, staff took the students through two short experiments using products and packaging used and sold at Alpha. The experiments were designed to use a mixture of dexterity skills, communication, and decision making, to determine when they felt satisfied to end the experiment. Students were directed to make observations on the final results and make conclusions, building on their understanding of science and critical thinking skills. Secondary Outreach Alpha’s first official outing for our new Outreach program involved hosting a session at the Thornden School STEM Club. This involved Year 10 students following an ‘Introduction to Diabetes’ presentation followed by a urinalysis practical. This practical used urine dipsticks to identify factors indicative of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Students were given three patient profiles and samples to test and decide on likelihood for diabetes diagnosis. Using their critical thinking, students determined which patients were at risk of diabetes. To complete the session students were briefly shown an advancement in the practical they undertook, igniting a discussion on the importance of STEM subjects involved throughout a products lifecycle and its impacts of the end users in clinics.
The session had a real impact, sparking curiosity and excitement about science, and left both students and staff feeling inspired. Jane Baker, Science Technician at Thornden School 27 24 Schools Reached School Product Donations Over the last few years, we were noticing some large amounts of expired stock commonly sent for waste which could be used to support local science education. With the constant strain on resources for schools, Alpha wanted to help uplift science education whilst reducing the impact of wasteful product on the environment. Through the local science technicians’ group, Alpha reached out to see if any primary or secondary schools would be interested in our expired stock - we were overwhelmed with the response. In 2025, Alpha donated over 280kg of expired stock, the majority of this being sample containers and plastic transfer pipettes. We are so glad to be able to extend the life of these products and put them to use in education.
