The key requirement for primary containers to transport samples is that they are leak-proof. Here we offer a range of primary containers which are tested and certified to be leak-proof. However to meet the UN3373 P650 packaging instruction, either the primary or secondary container must have been tested specifically to withstand a 95kPa pressure differential test. For road transport this test should be conducted at ambient temperature, but for air transport, the test must also be conducted at -40C and +55C. This means a leak-proof container, which has not been demonstrated to pass the 95ka pressure differential test, can only be used for sample transport when combined with a secondary container which has passed the appropriate test. We have categorised the sample containers according to their certification, however tubes certified to the IATA standard may also be used for other forms of transport. Please refer to the UN3373 Packaging Guide for Air & Road Transport on page 17 for further guidance. Primary Sample Containers Certified 95kPa Compliant for Air Transport To be used with a leak proof secondary, absorbent and outer rigid box.
