Since samples often contain other faster growing bacteria these can obscure the presence of Mycobacteria, preventing their detection. To avoid this, samples submitted for Mycobacteriology must first be digested, to release the Mycobacteria from the tissue or sputum and decontaminated to remove other micro-organisms. The Myco DDR kit from Immuno-Mycologics (IMMY) has been designed to make this process as simple, robust and reliable as possible. It features pre-measured quantities of high quality reagents packed in a ready-to-use format that maximises convenience and consistency. The kit features an integrated pH indicator, which gives the user confidence that the correct pH has been maintained throughout the process, essential for optimal recovery of Mycobacteria. The indicator used is blue, making any colour change much easier to visualise during processing bloody samples, compared to the red indicator used in other kits. In addition, the 10ml sample capacity of the Myco DDR kit means it is able to handle larger sample volumes than other kits on the market. This prevents the need to split samples for processing and avoids incurring additional costs. Myco DDR has also been designed so that the risk of cross-contamination of samples is decreased since the buffers are packaged in single use bottles. This feature minimises the risk of a false-positive result and a potentially erroneous diagnosis of tuberculosis. The introduction of the Myco DDR kit to the laboratory can simplify workflow, improve quality and increase confidence in results for more effective diagnosis. ■■Rigid pH control for cleaner smears, faster results, less reprocessing ■■Reduced Risk of Cross-Contamination ■■Easy to Process Specimens Containing Blood ■■Reduce Sample Splitting Workload - advanced buffering capacity of the Neutralization Buffer B supports samples up to 10ml ■■Ease-of-use - the Myco DDR reagents are individually packaged, premeasured, and ready-to-use ■■The NaOH Reagent A is stable for 72 hours after the NALC is added, which gives labs the opportunity to conserve reagents and save on material costs ■■Implementing the Myco DDR eliminates user variability Myco DDR Catalogue Number Description Pack Size DDR012-2.5 Myco DDR Trident (2.5% NaOH) 12 tests DDR012-3.0 Myco DDR Trident (3.0% NaOH) 12 tests MPB075-2.5 Myco DDR PrepBlue 150 tests Immuno-Mycologics n email order sales@alphalabs.co.uk n freefax order 0800 614249 327
